Michael Fassbender has been cast to play Steve Jobs in a biopic

The film will be directed by Danny Boyle and written by Aaron Sorkin.

IRISH ACTOR MICHAEL Fassbender is attached to play Steve Jobs in a forthcoming biopic directed by Danny Boyle and written by Aaron Sorkin.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Shame star is “attached to star” in the film, which was just picked up by Universal Studios.

The project based on Walter Isaacson’s biography of Steve Jobs, has endured a somewhat beleaguered start as it has tried to get off the ground. For one, Christian Bale had originally signed on to play Jobs, but left the project, citing “conflicting feelings”.

Last week, Sony dropped the project altogether before Universal stepped up to the plate and acquired it this week.

Seth Rogen is reportedly being eyed for a role as Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak, while Jessica Chastain and Scarlett Johansson have also been approached.

This isn’t the first time Jobs’ life story has been committed to film.

Last year Ashton Kutcher portrayed the Apple founder in Jobs…

…but that film was fairly slated, so we don’t think Fassbender has much to worry about.
